I crept out tentatively from under my shell, and opened my heart to you.

You stomped all over my words with heavy boots, poured poison over the remaining scraps, and then left.

On your way out, you stopped just long enough to tell me that you were doing God’s work. 

I can’t help but wonder,

If that is God’s work, perhaps the Devil’s business might be worth looking into.
