You didn’t listen.

I said X. You heard Y.

What is the point of me saying anything if I won’t be understood?

You smothered me with advice I didn’t ask for.

I want to get away so I can cry in private.

I couldn’t bear for you to add misunderstanding of my tears to the existing pile of misunderstandings.

The trouble is I want help.

And I know you want to help me too.

But somehow it’s ended up like this: hurt, rage and distance.

Two loving souls cut off from each other, severed at the point of reaching out.

Loving intentions squashed under the weight of our frailties.

May God help us to learn how to love each other better.
